Roughly 700 vines were planted in May 2014. Approximately 600 of them are Solaris grapes (white) while the remainder are Rondo grapes (red). In May (2016), Another 700 vines were planted in May 2016; most of these, Grüner Veltliner and Solaris.

Wine making has a very young tradition in Sweden (ca 20 years) but there are currently 5000 smaller vineyards in Sweden and the number increases steadily.

The grape that has proven most successful is Solaris, which actually does better in cold, nordic climates than in warm, Italian soil.

It takes four years before the first wine can be produced. During the first three years, the grapes are cut as soon as they appear to give all strength to the vine itself.

Our aspiration is to produce both white and rosé wine, desert wine, and sparkling wine.

Swedish wine can only be sold through the alcohol monopoly (Systembolaget) or directly to restaurants. The ambition for Petters Gård is to have a commercial wine by 2019.
