The original cottage dated from 1835. Upon renovation, most of the structures turned out to be rotten however, so what started off as a minor repair project soon turned into a full structural reinvention. The most important feature details were kept however: the original layout of the house, the traditional fasade, the iron cast oven from 1835 and the tile stove from around 1900. The house is very well insulated (almost to the standards of a passive house) and is heated primarily by means of the woodburning stove and oven. Electric radiators can be found in every room as a complement.
- TV & DVD
- IR & steam sauna
The cottage consists of three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a hall, and a bathroom. On the ground floor, you will find a tiled bathroom with floor heating, a washer/dryer and shower/infrared sauna/steam sauna for two. The spacious kitchen is modern and fully equipped with microwave, oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The iron cast oven has also been installed here and ensures that you can still cook, bake and heat the place even in case of an electricity breakdown. The kitchen also offers a large dining area with seats for eight.
In the living room you will find the century-old, fully functional tile stove along with a seating area including a sofa bed which sleeps two, TV, radio and CD/DVD-player. We have selected a range of books for you to read and CDs and DVDs for you to play.
One of the double-bed bedrooms can be found on the ground floor as well.
Upstairs, two more bedrooms can be found; one with a double bed and the other with two single beds.
Wifi is available throughout the house.
The wind-shielded terrace and barbecue area are under construction and will be finished by the beginning of May. They are surrounded by a garden with apple trees.
